Patrick Stewart is born and raised here in Edmonton, raised by a single mother off Fort Road, and later with the support of a hardworking stepfather. Patrick grew up exposed at an early age to the toughest realities of city life.... poverty, crime, drugs, abuse and loss. Those experiences left a mark but also gave him resilience, empathy, and a determination to fight for safer, stronger communities.
As an adult, Patrick has stayed connected to his Métis community through cultural research helping with genealogy in the community, and volunteer efforts. He also understands the challenges of mental health and homelessness on a personal level, having seen them affect his own family. That perspective drives his belief that real solutions must combine accountability with compassion.
Patrick is a business man, he worked his way from modest beginnings into a career in real estate ( 20 years ) and neighbourhood renewal, while remaining active in sports and community projects. His life has taught him that building a city means balancing safety, opportunity, and dignity for everyone.
In 2023, Patrick ran with the Alberta Party, where he championed fairness, accountability, and putting people before politics. Those values remain at the heart of his vision today. He believes good leadership isn’t about ideology it’s about listening, learning, and delivering results that actually work. He believes we need to build bridges not walls, No divisive, polarizing politics.
Now running for city council downtown, Patrick brings a pragmatic, people-first approach. He will be tough on crime and disorder, while ensuring that investments in housing, recovery, and mental health give people a path forward. He’s committed to making downtown Edmonton safe, vibrant, and welcoming for families, businesses, and visitors alike.
Patrick Stewart isn’t running to play politics. He’s running because he knows firsthand what’s at stake and he’s ready to fight for the people of Edmonton.
Patrick believes each ward is a foundation of Edmonton and only when those foundations are strong and connected can the city truly rise. He knows the same is true in life
The strongest foundations are built with patience and care, and when laid right, they can carry what matters most for a lifetime.
Patrick is ready to be the first to help build that new foundation for the city he loves, and for the future he’s building in his own life.
